We’ve been to Burra a number of times and always enjoy our time there. The people that run it are so friendly and make it a very welcoming experience. Be warned, it’s always been busy whenever we’ve visited, so plan to wait a little bit...that said, it’s worth the wait.
They do good coffee - no filter/batch brew, sadly, but it’s otherwise a good selection - and there’s a varied menu, alongside lots of cakes and baked goods to choose from.
The space is a tad small; however, they’ve always made room for us, even when we’ve got the pram for our little one. People bring their dogs there and the facilities for little ones are great: they not only have high chairs, but a very clean bathroom with changing options, which I’m always very grateful for. Not great for a multi-Mum meet up, but for one or two of you, it’s fine.
My only tiny (constructive) criticism is that the scrambled eggs could do with more seasoning. They’ve been a little bland the few times that I’ve had them. Otherwise, the food is great. My favourite dishes so far are the salmon scramble and the french toast with bacon/maple syrup. They could also do with having a few toddler/child food options, even if it’s just some pre-packed snacks.
The one thing that I almost never leave without is some TimTams! Make sure to grab a pack of the double chocolate ones when you pay for your bill. You won’t regret it!
